Privacy Policy
Snap Plants is an independent collector app from True Family. It is not affiliated with any nursery or trademark owner. Contact admin@snapcollectibles.com.
Account
Sign in with Apple gives a user identifier and, if the user shares them, their name and email. The identifier and name are stored on the device and on CloudKit records the user creates. Email from Apple is kept only if the user later saves an email as a trade contact.
Collection
Plants, notes, and photos stay on the device. If the user syncs or backs up to iCloud, they are stored in that user’s private CloudKit database for this app.
Identification
When the user snaps or chooses a photo for identification, that image is sent to OpenRouter and then to a model provider to suggest a name, diagnosis, and care notes. The app asks the first time before sending. The user can add a plant manually without sending a photo. Photos are not sold and are not used for advertising.
Public posts
Trades, chat, events, friend requests, and Master Catalog contributions are stored in the CloudKit public database and can be seen by other people who use the app.
Optional contact
A Facebook or Instagram link is optional. If added, it is saved with the trade profile. A private contact method is shown to another collector only after a trade is accepted.
Location
The app does not use GPS or Location Services. Meetup maps use a city or region name the user types, not device location.
Snap Plants Pro
Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple. We do not receive the card number. Free includes 25 identifications and lookups a month, one trade listing, interest on one listing, and 20 messages on each of those threads. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, show third-party ads, or track people across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not use the advertising identifier. Dollar and shipping fields on a trade are notes only. Collector-to-collector payments are not processed by the app.
Delete your account
In the app, Settings → Delete Account removes the Sign in with Apple session on that device, the on-device collection, and that user’s iCloud trades, messages, events, profile, and backups. Someone who cannot open the app can email admin@snapcollectibles.com with their trade username and ask for deletion.
Children
Snap Plants is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If a child has created an account, email admin@snapcollectibles.com and we will delete it.
Security
Network traffic uses HTTPS. The app does not add its own encryption. CloudKit access follows the user’s Apple ID.
